About Us | Team

Dear Researcher,

Last year was another challenging year for the radiochemical industry because the shortage of barium carbonate [14C] continued and has become much worse in 2013. We hope this situation will improve next year.

As usual, we are adding 150 new products to our already wide selection of more than 5,000 radiochemicals and specialized cold chemicals. Due to popular demand and on customer’s request, some of the product lines which continue to expand include amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, and drugs.

We have introduced a small number of products labeled with stable isotopes as outlined on the inside of the back cover. Most of these products are already available from us as carbon-14 or tritium labeled products. Depending upon the response, we will expand this product line further. Requests for custom syntheses using stable isotopes are highly encouraged.

As you are well aware a vast majority of products in our catalog are ARC exclusives. Because of this our international business is expanding and we are shipping our products to several new countries. In most cases, we can send exempt quantities (up to 100 uCi of carbon-14 and up to 1 mCi of tritium) as laboratory reagents to almost anywhere in the world using FedEx door-to-door service provided the recipient has authorization from their government to receive. All such shipments are made in accordance with IATA rules and regulations. ARC also holds a separate license from NRC which allows us to ship up to 50 uCi of any carbon-14 or tritium labeled compound to researchers who do not have a license to order radiochemicals. This is especially useful for researchers who wish to use Saxitoxin [11-3H] or Brevetoxin-3 [side chain-3H] for RBA testing. Recently, Porcine Brain Membrane homogenate has been developed by Sigma-Alrdich for use in these receptor binding assays to determine paralytic shellfish poisoning. This assay provides high throughput method for screening of shellfish poisoning. ARC can supply this kit with the tritium labeled toxins. ARC’s exempt license is also convenient for those interested in receiving our unique carbon-14 and tritium labeled standards for autoradiography.

All of us at ARC appreciate your continued support and suggestions for new products. This year we are celebrating our 30 year anniversary.

Sincerely,

Surendra Gupta, Ph.D.
